Having completed the BD(Bachelor of Divinity) graduation from the Orthodox Theological seminary, Kottayam in 1983, Rev. Fr. Dr. Rege Mathew was ordained as priest by His Holiness Baselios Marthoma Mathew II.

After a brief period in 1985, he completed his MA in History and International Relations from VSSD College, Kanpur. He then passed B.Ed. and M.Ed. from Sohan Lal DAV College, Ambala (Kursukeshetra University). Followed by that, he became the Principal of Kanpur St. Mary’s School and then its Manager till 1989.

 During the year 1990-93, he taught in Rajapura Holy Angel’s School in Punjab and he discharged his duties as the Vicar of St. Thomas Church , Ambala. He had been the Vicar of St. Paul’s Church, Gwalior and taught in the Holy Angel’s School during 1993-95.

 He came back to Kerala and during 1995-97; he served as the Secretary of HH. Baselios Marthoma Mathews II at Devalokam, Aramana, Kottayam. During the tenure, he also served as the Manager in Thazhakara Seminary and also as a Vicar in Kunnamkulam Aramana Chapel. From 1997-2002, he taught in the Holy Trinity College, Ethopia. During the years, 2002-2006, he secured his Masters in Theology from the reputed University of Princeton, USA. At the same time, he served as the Vicar in churches such as St. Gregorious, Yonkers, NY, St. Thomas, Dallas, St. Thomas Lukfin & St. Paul’s, Dallas. He also served as a Certified Teacher in Garland ISD, Texas, USA from 2007-2013.

Securing his Doctorate in Practical Theology, he returned to Kerala in 2013, he now serves as the secretary and a member of the St. George Ashram, Chayalode in associate with H.G Dr. Zacharias Mar Aprem. Even since he took over the charge as the Principal of Thapovan School, Adoor, Kerala in 2014, he strived hard consistently to transform the School into one of the best CBSE School in Kerala.

Recently was selected as one among hundred highly effective principals all over India out of 2600 nominations by two educational organizations empaneled by CBSE (A.K.S- Alert Knowledge Service and EdAssess Recognizing Educational Acumen). The award was given by BK Singh IFS, Commissioner, Navodya Vidayala Samithi, Ministry of HRD, Government of India during the colorful ceremony held in New Delhi on Jan 31^st 2017.
